Knowing Your Brain State
Knowing your brain state is essential for those who are challenged by weight problems. With each brain state, appetite, mood, fat deposition and behaviors change. As you learn about the brain states, you can more easily control how you respond to them. Emotional brain literacy is core to the effective treatment of weight issues.
Overweight affects 67 percent of Americans, and overeating is the most common excess in the nation. Treatment includes diets, exercise or surgery.
The EBT Approach
Emerging science is suggesting that obesity is a brain disease, brought on by stress that robs us of our joy. The brain demands joy, and in stress we cannot access the natural joys of life. Eating an apple just doesn't satisfy us. So we naturally turn to eating sugary, fatty foods for that "joy substitute."
The EBT approach is learn tools to get that joy back, and how to rewire the circuit that associates overeating with reward. The goal of the method is to rewire the brain's set point for freedom from the whole range of common excesses and an abundance of the joys of an exceptional life.
Getting Started
Take our EBT Basics: Wired for Joy Course. You'll begin to think in terms of brain states, and wires, and learn how to switch your brain from any level of stress back to joy. Continue with the advanced courses until you have what you most want from this training. The rewards of a brain in balance are: sanctuary, authenticity, vibrancy, integrity, intimacy, spirituality and freedom.
Choose the reward that matters most to you, and then move through the EBT courses until you have an abundance of it, and your brain is wired for joy.
