If you have a troubled teen, knowing how to identify your brain state and your teen's brain state can make a remarkable difference in how you conduct your home life. Emotional brain literacy is important for parents and for teens.

The Basics

Whether you are an adolescent or the parent of an adolescent, the transition into adulthood can be intensely stressful and risky for all who are involved.

The EBT Approach

Any member of the family may benefit from learning and practicing EBT. Teens learn how to make sense out of their extreme emotions, thoughts and behaviors. Parents and others manage stress more effectively and learn how to respond to their teen based on brain sates and intimacy skill â which include conflict resolution.

The approach is to access external help for job planning and landing a job or negotiating other work changes, and to use EBT as a pathway to coping with stress effectively, and making decisions about the next step in your work life.

Getting Started

Take our EBT Basics: Wired for Joy Course. You'll begin to think in terms of brain states, and wires, and learn how to switch your brain from any level of stress back to joy. When stresses are high, relay on EBT Coaching so that you can approach immediate stressors more effectively.

Choose the reward that matters most to you, and then move through the EBT courses until you have an abundance of it, and you are wired for joy.
