Knowing Your Brain State

Smokers often know that they need balance when they reach for a cigarette, but most do not know their brain state at the time. Many participants find that simply knowing how to identify their brain state leads to feeling more balanced.

The Basics

About 24% of people use nicotine to control mood, and stopping smoking increases stress levels. Many people quit smoking by using a nicotine patch and support groups.

The EBT Approach

Brain studies have shown that smoking can cause the brain's reward centers to change in ways that diminish joy. The brain demands joy, so the smoker turns to cigarettes for that "joy substitute."

The EBT approach is learn tools to get that joy back, and how to rewire the circuit that associates smoking with reward. The goal of the method is to rewire the brain's set point for freedom from the whole range of common excesses and an abundance of the joys of an exceptional life.
