Relationship Loss

Knowing Your Brain State

Knowing your brain state as you deal with relationship loss can assist you in seeing yourself more accurately. Often the level of stress you are experiencing is greater than you might have imagined, so it is easier to feel compassion for yourself. Emotional brain literacy is important to grieving the loss of a relationship and moving on in your own personal evolution.

The Basics

The pain of separation or divorce is often severe and complex. A cascade of stresses often ensues, impacting nearly every aspect of life from financial status to self-image.

Although the loss of a partnership or marriage can be extremely stressful, processing that stress to create a more secure connection to self before entering into another relationship can be important to the long-term health and happiness of the individual.

The EBT Approach

Many participants begin EBT soon after a relationship loss, sensing that they need tools to process the stress of the loss, and that the tools could support them in learning from the experience.

When a significant life change such as a relationship loss occurs, the stress that follows can enhance neuroplaticity. We can use the experience to encode new circuits not only of attachment to ourselves but a new way of relating to others.

Getting Started

Take our EBT Basics: Wired for Joy Course. You’ll begin to think in terms of brain states, and wires, and learn how to switch your brain from any level of stress back to joy. Continue with the advanced courses until you have what you most want from this training. The rewards of a brain in balance are: sanctuary, authenticity, vibrancy, integrity, intimacy, spirituality and freedom.

Choose the reward that matters most to you, and then move through the EBT courses until you have an abundance of it, and you are wired for joy.
